Exchange Compensation has increased
on account of the increased salaries and alse ewing te
the fact that the Estimate for 1900 was found to be
insufficient.

The Estimate of Refunds of Reveme
is necessarily speculative. But, owing to the great de-
mand which exists for houses in the Colony, there is
every reason to believe that refunds en account of unec-
cupied tenements will be fewer.

Finally, in the Estimates for 1900,
a sum of $10,000 was inserted for "Miscellaneous Expenses
New Territory, whereas for the current year this item
has been practically abolished, and only a sum of $1,000
for travelling expenses appears in the Estimates for 1901.
